Admission Procedure

The Four Year Under Graduate Programme (FYUGP) under NEP 2020 is implemented by Dibrugarh University from the academic session 2025-26. Application for admission to 1st Semester of B.A. Programme are invited usually in the month of June every year.

Students can apply for admission in the prescribed Admission Form through the online mode in the SAMARTH Assam Higher Education Admission Portal ( https://assamadmission.samarth.ac.in ).

Application form along with the prospectus can be obtained from the office during office hours. Admission Procedure is based on merit basis subject to the approval of the admission committee.

The reservation of seats for students belonging to the SC, ST, OBC and MOBC classes are available as per Government Rules.

Documents Required at the Time of Admission

Candidates are required to produce the following documents at the time of admission-cum-interview:

  1. Original Marks Sheet of the last qualifying examination.
  2. Original Pass Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.
  3. Age Certificate.
  4. Stamp Size Photograph.
  5. Caste Certificate.
  6. Income Certificate.
  7. EWS Certificate.

Eligibility for Admission

A student who has passed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or equivalent examination recognised as such by the Council/Board of Assam shall be eligible for admission into the First Semester of the B.A. Programme (FYUGP).

Refusal and Cancellation of Admission

A student may be refused admission if his/her past conduct in the educational institution last attended has not been satisfactory. A student who has been expelled/rusticated or disqualified by any institution may also be refused admission.

Admission of a student can be cancelled at any stage if it is found that he/she has furnished incorrect information in the application form.

Attendance

The student shall have above 80% of attendance during the total number of class days. A student who has less than 80% attendance in average shall not be permitted to sit for the End-semester Examination.
